We had quite a few weird looks when telling people we would design an entry door. A mystery to us, knowing all along that Minimarket and Diplomat was a perfect match. The entry door we designed for Diplomat is a great example of how our esthetics can be applied in any field.
Diplomat loves limited editions and custom made doors. Their factory in Bankeryd, Småland, offer the craftsmanship skills needed to bring advanced ideas to life. Diplomat wanted to show their ability and passion to the end-consumer, and after falling in love with our print concepts, they chose us as their partner. The result is a door that in the first month of sales sold as much as Diplomat expects from a full first year with a new door.
We do love creating prints, as it brings an extra dimension of life to textile. But how do you create this extra dimension for an entry door? Even though Diplomat actually can print on doors, we found this extra dimension experimenting with layers and contrasting materials.

Starting the creative process was like setting off an avalanche. Together with Diplomat we wrestled around the fact that we could only choose one of all designs we came up with. The final choice was the door with a graphic pattern, formed by milled tracks in which we embedded brass strips. We created four different color options, offering a selection suited for both modern and classic homes.
The Minimarket x Diplomat door is a safety door, with high demands on heavy usage over many years. The wood used for the door derives from sustainable Swedish forestry and the brass strips are picked up from the car industry.
